Radiation heating vs convection heating, which way is better for large-space heating?

<p> High space heating in winter has always been a problem in the industry. In the space of tall buildings, there are widespread problems such as large heating area, poor wall insulation capacity and high energy consumption. Therefore, in the choice of heating equipment, the following factors should be considered: energy saving, environmental protection, heating comfort and heating effect. </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> <strong>Analysis and comparison of radiant heating and convective heating</strong> </p> <p> <br /> </p> At present, according to the different nature of the use of buildings, the heating of general tall space buildings mainly uses radiation heating and convection heating.<br /> <p> The traditional heating method of industrial plants is to use heat sources such as hot water boilers, steam boilers through pipelines and air handling units, heaters, radiators and other cooling equipment to heat the air in the plant, relying on air convection to achieve heating purposes. However, in the traditional convective heating system, due to the rise of hot air, a large amount of heat is consumed in the upper part of the tall building, and the lower working area is difficult to obtain enough heat, and the temperature distribution is uneven, which not only causes energy waste, but also poor thermal comfort. </p> <p> <br /> </p> The heat in the radiation heating process is mainly concentrated in the middle and lower part of the room, which is more conducive to being absorbed and utilized by the human body, the temperature rise is faster, the thermal comfort is strong, the energy consumed in the air is less, the energy utilization rate is high, and the heating effect is good. Therefore, radiation heating can better reduce the influence of temperature gradient than the previous two traditional heating methods.<br /> <p> When the indoor air temperature is the same, radiant heat directly transfers heat to the heating object. The realistic temperature of radiant heating is 2~3℃ higher than that of convective heating. That is to say, under the condition that the indoor realistic temperature is the same, the indoor air temperature of radiant heating is 2~3℃ lower than that of heating, so the indoor heat consumption is small and the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is small. The cold air permeability is also small, thus improving the indoor heating effect. </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> The experiments show that the room temperature of 16℃ under the radiant heat condition is equivalent to the convection environment of 18~20℃. It is understood that if the room temperature is reduced by 1 ° C, about 10% of energy can be saved. </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> With the advancement of the industrialization process and the renewal of old equipment and the further elimination of regional boilers, the coverage rate of infrared radiation heating equipment will be further improved. In recent years, infrared radiation heating methods (gas radiation heating systems, hot water radiation panels, etc.) have been implemented and widely used, which is suitable for comprehensive heating of buildings with a height of 4m~30m and local area or local work place heating. Whether it is manufacturing enterprises, warehousing and logistics centers or aircraft and railway maintenance warehouses, infrared radiation heating technology can be perfectly applied.
